Creative Breeding
Genetically proven varieties,
stable production and responsible breeding
– this is the foundation of our offer.
Developing a new potato variety is a process that can take up to 10 years and is carried out in accordance with a breeding program.
The main evaluation criteria are: earliness, yield, tuber morphology, starch content, taste, suitability for processing, and resistance to viruses, potato blight, and other fungal and bacterial diseases.
All breeding lines submitted for registration trials are resistant to potato wart disease and potato cyst nematodes.

Conservation breeding and seed production
Conservation breeding and potato seed production are carried out in four company branches, all located in areas with the lowest risk of viral pressure. Currently, our offer includes 29 varieties: 15 table varieties and 14 starch varieties.
The starting material for conservation breeding of varieties entered in the National Register consists of minitubers obtained from plants and microtubers propagated in the company’s own tissue culture laboratories.
Healthy material for the laboratories is sourced from the Gene Bank in Bonin. The minitubers produced in greenhouses and tunnels are planted in the following year in the field across the company’s four branches as pre-basic material for seed production.
